Since most of these trees are donated for the purpose and therefore saved from the chipper, it is a tribute to the end of a fine tree.
Leave it where it has been for 80 years. When I travel across Canada, I get a lot of comments about "the lovely Christmas tree in the middle of Main Street". Leave it alone.

AHHHH!!! God forbid Kenora citizens ACTUALLY accept a change for once. Its a TREE, not a Police Service which is a bigger issue. Move the tree so its not a traffic hazard!

I really enjoy seeing the big tree downtown where it is every year. Its a real centre piece and a recognized landmark display for the Christmas season. Everyone that drives through town is awe struck by it. Its' Kenora in Christmas It's part of our town's tradition. Its wonderful. I hope we can keep it where it is.

The tree is part of our tradition and they have tried to move it in the past. There was much public outrage about that. There has been too much change around here lately and Christmas would not be the same...

Here we go again, screwing with history. I thought these "planners" were familiar with city traits and traditions when they started to plan a project. I guess if all else fails, stick it in the roundabout.

Nice to see some positive comments for a change. We can most likely revitalize without changing plans and keep the tree very close to where it is by simply moving it north 30 or 50 ft. From Main St the view will change little and we keep a tradition that has been going since the 20's.

Change is good. Lets get something new and progressive going. We live in a wonderful community which has amazing potential if we could only move ahead and embrace change.

Quite frankly I would rather see the tree gone regardless of the renovations. Pity to see a beautifal tree go to waste in the first place.

The tree should stay where it is. We do not need anymore changes to downtown. As with the KPS council does not think of the citizens of Kenora.

It's time to be a little progressive and try something new. A tree set up in one of ours parks would be something new and maybe a gathering place, not something to drive by. (and around)
