Let me get this, the province has been subsidizing Go Train buses in southern Ontario by more than $35 million and more than $25 million for bus and train services in the Northeast. When someone lobbies to have the provincial government treat the Northwest equally, Kenora residents object to that idea. Then we complain that Toronto does not pay any attention to the North. Go figure.

No. I do not see them (bus companies) sharing their profit with us, when the going is good. However there should/could be better health care travel expenses for those who have to go away for health care treatments that are not available here.

"Why are they losing money on these runs?" How about expenses are greater than revenues.

If there is a need for more buses between locations in the area, free enterprise should take over. There is no need for government intervention or donations to Greyhound. Every time something goes wrong, people want the government to intervene. Then, they complain about too much government intervention.

The last thing we need is government involvement. Nothing's free. Why do some people have a sense of entitlement, how does that happen when most people have to work and provide for themselves?

It depends. Are they losing money on these runs?

I think Greyhound should not be subsidized. When they charged reasonable rates they always ran full buses, then they raised their fees considerably ridership fell off. Greed took over and they lost. Who wants to pay airline fares for a bus ride? If some small outfit wanted to take the job I would agree with subsidization.

These are multinational companies so why should taxpayers get stuck helping to pay for CEOs who get salaries in the millions of dollars, too bad they can't supply a service at their own expense.
