Once again Paula is off the question. It has nothing to do with giving to charity. I have no extra money to give to anyone but my family. Taxes, hydro, water, etc. are just too high and we are just making it being we are on pension.

Why post irrelevant comments?

I'm on Facebook, Twitter and commenting on everything available on the internet to lobby the government to spend more and more because this is what is driving the new Liberal government - emotion and wanting to make us feel good. Too bad, we're already broke and going to feel a lot more pain later. But that's OK, spending money that ain't yours is fun!

As a pensioner I have to agree with most comments about being stretched thin with rising taxes, ridiculous sewer/water rates and being gouged at the pumps or robbed by Kathy Wynne and her Liberal criminals, but our Christmas charity will remain albeit maybe a little less.

I prefer to donate locally and usually give to the Salvation Army either at the Miracle Marathon or drop into their office. It's getting harder to find extra with all the utility rates jumping up, but will donate until I have to apply for a hamper.

Being on a fixed income, and with hydro, taxes, sewer and water increases and the high cost of food, it gets harder every year to donate.
I prefer local charities as you can see results. Out of town charities usually have some high priced leech at its top, with a well paid staff. Not what the money is donated for.
