I think, I will register to vote and not vote.. I agree does it matter???. We have a MPP, who's party isn't and won't be in power....add that to the fact , we live in Northern Ontario...

It isn't a question of who will win the riding but by how much? Fortunately that candiate is the only one that represents the working man, congratulations in advance and thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for us to the winner - the NDP leader - Howard Hampton
Is there any doubt ?  ( September 2, 2007)
Picking the NDP leader over a back bencher from another party in the only choice. He does more for the riding and will continue to do than any other candiate will ever do. Thank you Howard Hampton.
Randolph  ( September 2, 2007)
Enough of Mr. Hampton, all I ever hear Howard say about the riding is something negative, why not send someone to Queens Park that's going to say something positive. It's time for a change! Let's send someone thats going to be part of a government or even at least with the official opposition!

I am undecided, not as to who I will vote for, but "IF", I will vote. Our part of the province does not get its fair share of government spending or attention. They have held up granting access to fiber to our two remaining mills. They allowed hydro electric rates to soar. Just when election time draws near, they show up with the handouts, like they think we will forget their ignorance.
don't vote for the NDP!  ( August 31, 2007)
Remember this. Through people's ideas and hard work wealth is created. We need a low tax environment that won't penalize someone who works hard and creates investment, jobs that so we can buy food, pay for our homes. The government does not create wealth. Taxes pay for education and infrastructure to support our communities. The NDP will tax us to death and run up the debt, which will mean fewer tax $ for infrastructure and less money for everyone. Nothing is easy. No free rides, be honest, work hard to help yourselves and your families, go where the work is or create your own bussiness. Take care.

It's time for Howard and this riding to part ways. He has been totally ineffective in getting anything done in this riding but is quick to blame the liberals and conservatives for all its problems. Maybe the problem is the lack of a true voice in Queens Park. Hell, he doesn't even want to live here so let him run in the riding he resides, oh wait, that's his wifes riding isn't it. Vote Liberal and get some respect from Toronto.

What does it matter? We live in Northern Ontario, we don't exist! The current government imposed a health care levy and allowed hydro rates to rise, they have done little to aid our forestry crisis. In fact in their effort to look "green" have jeopardized more jobs. The Conservatives in the past down loaded everything they could on the communities and imposed user fees wherever they could. No tax increases! The NDP had one "reign of error". If there is any sense in the world they will never see power again. Then there are the rest of the pack, or the waste of paper people.
Actually why vote at all. We should all just stay home that day.

I'll vote Conservative. I've voted Liberal forever up to the last election when I switched to Conservative. I feel they have done well in sticking to their campaign promises and are also not in the spotlight every night in the news, just seem to quietly be accomplishing things without much self-promoting fanfare. I cannot vote Liberal again given the corruption issues within that party, and the other parties are just not a viable alternative yet. Thus, it's an easy decision. No party will change the economic realities of living in NW Ontario - that's a realization we have to make as people regardless of politics.

If our riding elects an MPP who is a member of the governing party in Ontario perhaps they will recognize that there is a bigger side of the map of Ontario which consists of our riding and do something for us. At present, we have a socialist NDP representative and all he can do is complain and try to get something done to no avail. Let's go with a member whose party has a chance to become the government. We had an NDP government once. Remember those Rae Days. We don't want to go back there.
