Put the cameras in, if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. I don't hear people complaining about being watched in Zellers, Canadian Tire or WalMart.

I favour the cameras and there should be as many as possible financially. Dont give me this invasion of privacy or big brother b.s. If your not doing anything wrong and obeying the law, whats the problem? Or are you part of the problem? Preventing vandalism and reducing street crime, helping the merchants to reduce their insurance premiums, bring them on!!!!!

Why not. Look at the wonderful system used in Great Britian. If you arent doing anything wrong, what do you have to worry about. Since the police can not be everywhere all the time, what a marvelous tool.
Now all we need is to get the courts to impose sentences fitting the crime and quit treating local offenders like children!!

I personally feel that it would be a good thing. There is too much vandalism going on. As far as I'm concerned if you're not doing anything wrong then what's the problem with the cameras. We may have other thing that we need to worry about but, this is a big one. As for putting cameras in the bathroom like one person suggested to get it over with, well...that's just being silly!!

Whose paying for this? With Kenora going quickly down the tubes, don't we have more important things to worry
about?

I say NO,because it is a blatant infringement on my rights to privacy, even if I am downtown or in my own home. If merchants want cameras in their own stores, then post notices to that effect that you use them for crime prevention and if a person doesn't want to be on camera, that person has the option of not entering that premise. Reminds me of "Big Brother Is Watching You" What can we expect next? To date, we have a powerful spy-cam in space capable of reading your front page news, cameras in stores now cameras downtown and God only knows where else they'll dream up to put one. Might just as well put 'em in public washrooms now and get it over with!
