Thanks for bringing this topic out in the open. Every time I drive this highway I see aggressive traffic violations by truckers.

I read in the paper last week that was bang on. A Trucker called the Miner and News and said that many Truckers feel they Own the road.

For every poor semi driver I've seen there are 10 poor drivers in normal vehicles. I saw 6 vehicles in the ditch today, one of them was a semi. When a dodge neon spins out and hits the ditch, it doesn't make the paper. But when a load of neon diapers is spilled from a semi leaving the road, we all cry foul on truck drivers. I agree with more tickets, but for all poor drivers, regardless of what they are driving.

Dont stop at last week!! This is still the most dangerous road in Canada.
It all comes down to the "human factor". It doesn't take a genius to realize that if the road is slippery, visibility is poor and you aren't familiar with the road, then ""SLOW DOWN"".
Add to the fact that transports travel in groups, tailgate each other and pass whether it is safe or not and you have a formula for destruction.
Unfortunately it is usually other innocent drivers that suffer the consequences for these idiots.

I have been driving these highways on a weekly basis for years and have never even come close to having an accident. The transports are not paying attention, following to close, not driving to road conditions etc.

Transport drivers have a tendancy to drive in "convoy", over the speed limit and too fast for condtions. As a result privates vehicle get boxed in between the transports and are forced to drive faster than they would normally do and are unable to pass or be passed. Get the ticket book out boys and start issuing traffic tickets. Too many people are being killed on that stretch of highway.
