Leave poll as it is. You get more comments if unsigned and some of them are very good. I can't get out much and enjoy participating in the poll.

The way it is now, i'll go out on a limb and say that 90% of the people that respond on here give fake names and their comments appear to make it to print anyways. So really it appears that unsigned comments are of the majority being printed.

Perhaps a registration system could be setup where users create a username and a password where users must have an e-mail address from an ISP or organization which is not free (hotmail, gmail, etc.) With the current system that Mike and Paul have setup for mykenora I'm sure that they can work something out to set this up!
With a registration system as described there is a sense of ownership and some credibility. With this, the usage agreement can indicate that Mykenora and/or the Enterprise to publish their name and handle.

I find the poll too inflammatory most times. We ask people to comment on a subject that they often know very little about. Way too many naysayers without positive feedback. And some folks are taking questions and using them to push their own political agendas. Just answer the question with a short explanation. Another option might be to write a pro/con piece about a subject and then get the opinions. At least folks would be aware of two sides of the argument.

Please continue. Would it be possible for the public to have an input as to the questions you ask?
Paul  ( December 3, 2007)
If you would have asked this question at the beginning, I would have said get rid of it as I question the motivation behind it. But it has come a long way since then. Still there are some comments that shouldn't be printed as they encourage behavior that is unacceptable, but it is getting better than before.

I like it the way it is. I'd also like to see an additional board on here where we can debate the poll of the week so the comments that get published aren't arguments but opinions.

You have to edit for racist remarks and the screamers that rebut with calling someone a racist. Let people have their views without printing their names so they don't get a rock thrown threw their car window. We're a small population in a big area and we depend on each other. We need to hear all the different points of view (within reason) and we need EVERYONE pulling their own weight and WORK AND PAY taxes for the benefits we enjoy. The government cant do it for you-its you the individual that makes a difference.
