It seems to me that the majority of those who are charged with trespassing or hunting within city limits are hunters from the United States. Across the border, it is not unheard of to shoot an animal in your own backyard. Out of country hunters need to be educated on our hunting regulations in Ontario. Perhaps those who are coming across the border should be given a pamphlet on the guidelines and maps on the allowed hunting areas.

First of, since there should be no hunting practices to worry about in Kenora, I am concerned. Last week while driving back from a job site, I encountered two local hunters loading a deer into a truck well after dark. As soon as I passed them they loaded the animal and tore off back towards town.
It is pathetic, when hunters have to resort to hunting in town limits. I am a hunter, I have gotten my moose and deer every year. But, I never resort to hunting anywhere there are houses, traffic or on private property. No wonder we hunters get a bad rap.

I have personally encountered, night hunting, hunting on private posted land, hunting within city limits and improper disposal of wild game carcasses.
It seems with all the deer near town, some of the less reputable hunters are willing to risk their licences and the publics safety to get an animal. Then if it is too small, or they cant find it in the dark, it is left for the ravens.
