hopefull  ( January 2, 2007)
I think we should all remain optimistic, but the clock is ticking and more people are leaving everyday. I fail to see new business opening on Main Street, but see more closing. Kenora is a great place to live but could become another Sioux Narrows if nothing happens soon.

I say no; because the city is marching into '07 dragging a full plate of '06 behind them that new mayor and council will have to first deal with and resolve before commencing with newer issues.

I hope all the naysayers and down-on-my-luck types pack it in and move to Alberta. Kenora will be better off when they do...

No! Not a lot was resolved in 2006. We still have an unsightly street problem and no adequate homless shelters.
There is no movement re any new industry, businesses now are feeling the loss of the mill incomes. If anything 2007 may be the year Kenora hits rock bottom.
happy new year  ( December 30, 2006)
I for one am looking forward to 2007. There are several new businesses starting on Main Street and the fact that the mill is closed is forcing many to not rely on a one industry town. We need people in town to be open, optimistic and energetic. That's how we keep young people here wanting to stay and have a safe place to bring up a family. That's why my husband and I moved here and it will be 15 plus years and two kids later. I love Kenora!

What is there to stay for!! People with bad attitude should leave! We need positive, open minded people living in this community! We need new ideas and innovation.

While it will take some time to make up for losses from the mill closure. I think Kenora has a great future. Mining, value added wood products, tourism, and our geographical location will all make Kenora thrive in the years to come. If you can't have more imagination or optimism than "GOODBYE" maybe you should consider the move. I'm staying!!!!!
GOODBYE  ( December 29, 2006)

I think there will continue to be business closures and people leaving. What is there to stay for?
