The process was flawed then as was the decision. "Give In"! Never. These individuals did not act in our best interest.
The councillors who voted in favor of the OPP selection had their minds made up before the process started. All it took was a "Consultant" who was biased, to make it seem right. Yes, Coun. Poirier, the vote was democratic, its just that the process to get there was questionable.

Even if the poll came out 90% to give up I would never agree or stop fighting to change the result. The mayor is counting on everyone getting tired of the issue and giving up. He and council are playing a waiting game to get their own way. We have to continue the fight against those on council. Who knows what other situation they'll try to manipulate."

At the time I posted this comment, there were 13 people who voted to "give in" to council. I thought there were only 5 councillors? The other 8 must rent their homes or else have deep pockets to pay for the exponential increase in our property taxes that will result if we let council have their way. The wording alone should give you the answer. "GIVE IN TO COUNCIL". If we are "giving in" that means we don't agree and are simply allowing this to be forced upon us. People are forced to give in to their government in a dictatorship or a communist country. Have we forgotten what country we live in.

If the council would have conducted a fair process, they wouldn't be having these issues. We cannot let our government go against the will of the people. We must keep up the fight.

You know what - this council stinks (You can believe what your read sometimes) and it can't be ignored. We must keep working on them because they need to know we are watching

The issue should have been voted on by the citizens of this town, not a few that already had there minds made up.
