The Biz group and down town has had their turn. The real taxpayers of Kenora would like to see our money spent to help the people who live here year around. Senior housing comes to mind not fancy signs that that 99 per cent of residents can not read

Time will tell. Hopefully, Council will get control of the frivolous spending and get real with the infrastructure concerns. I agree there should have been a plebiscite on the arena twinning. It was interesting that those that voted on-line had a chance to answer a question about the twinning of the arena in an on-line survey but those that went to the advance poll or otherwise, including telephone voting, never had that option. Not even sure why the question was included in the survey if not everyone who voted had an opportunity to respond.

Same old, same old. One new face in the whole bunch. At least Ralko should bring new perspective to council. We need more youth with fresh ideas. I thought Graham Chaze had a good platform so it's a shame he was defeated by a single vote. Kenora needs a vibrant council. It shouldn't be a home for retired old foggies.

Change the rules, change the faces  ( October 25, 2018)
Just once I would like to see more new fresh faces on council. I guess we’re stuck with the same old, same old for another four years. There should be a term limit put on candidates running for council. Although it was encouraging to see so many new candidates running in this election, in the end it always seems to be a popularity contest. It’s really too bad that more people don’t come out of their comfort zone and take a chance on some new faces. They might surprise you! It’s no wonder so many get discouraged from running for council.

Was nice to see the Ralko lady get a seat. Goss and Smith too. Hopefully council tackles the real issues plaguing Kenora, drug abuse and such. You can build all the unnecessary arenas and such that you want , but unless the drug problem is brought under control, Kenora will never be a desirable location to live or relocate to.

It's hard to say until they start doing something, I think all elected will do a good job but we have to wait and see the accomplishments. I would really like to see them find another source of revenue instead of raising taxes and water rates. My water bill was higher than my electrical bill and that's almost a crime.

Most of them want to twin the rink which we cannot afford

It's tough to make economical decisions for all tax payers when there are so many services that are not paid for by all users.

I hope that the council can move forward and make good decisions for ALL taxpayers, the downtown needs to be cleaned up and developed on all streets and avenues. The only areas that look safe are Main St & Second St but with all the resent break and enters it's very discouraging for anyone to open a business. There is not much activity downtown in the evenings, so what is happening with policing during that time?

I was hoping for a few more new faces. We will be back to the same old, rubber stamp solutions. Unfortunately too, we will have to deal with twinning the ice at the rec center. Don't need it, can't afford it. That idea should be put forward as a plebiscite for the citizens to decide.
