So someone without experience can make $14 an hour? What about my raise? I have been in the work force for many years, lots of experience, hard worker loyal employee what about my raise? Ontario government you have opened a can of worms and not a good one. Keep continuing to put the province in debt. Oh yeah! Liberal once again. Enough said!

The increase in minimum wage will lead to lay offs. I have a friend in the restaurant business who already has to decide where to cut hours to make up the difference.
With costs for water etc going up, it is getting expensive to do business. Add to that, there are unionized workers, that are now getting paid the equivalent of minimum wage. Next round of negotiation, guess what, they will demand a higher than usual raise in wages.

Definitely not. With wages going up you can bet you bottom dollar the business people will get their money back from less hours so they do not have to pay breaks or lunch, benefits etc. People will not go to work for cut hours so what good is a raise

It's great for large companies, but for the small business owner just making it, it's not good at all. I can see a lot of businesses go belly up. The younger generation in Kenora doesn't seem to want to work so I guess it won't make a difference in this town!

l know $14 an hour is still not a livable wage but guess what? Coffee just went up 10 cents at the local coffee shop. Customers will pay twice what it's costing these and other places but the government will still say the Consumer Price Index will still go up less than 2 per cent no matter how much things go up in costs.

I think it will not help anyone. The prices of goods will increase to make up for the wage increase so minimum wage earners will be in the same boat they were in before the increase. People who will not receive a wage increase will fall further behind.
