About time the owners did something with the building. It would be nice to give them a deadline to either do something or move the building along. If removal of the designation gets something done then just do it. Kenora has been held hostage on this one too long. That's what you get with owners who don't live here.

The owner's of the Kenricia should fix it up or sell it. Yes it is part of our history, so is my house is the city going to pay to fix it up????

This building has historical significance. It doesn't need a designation from the 'city' for such a label. They've been working at it for years now. What kind of progress has been made? Is it worth saving? Hope the owner has some deep pockets for this white elephant

DON'T DESTROY THIS HERITAGE HOTEL ,WHAT IS LEFT IN THIS TOWN OR CITY THAT EVERYONE ADMIRES.IF THE OWNERS PUT A LITTLE MONEY INTO EACH YEAR IT WOULD NOT BE IN THIS POOR SHAPE.COME ON OWNERS FIX IT UP. IT IS OUR HISTORY

If removing the Heritage designation will get if repaired, torn down or replaced, then remove it. Its' glory days are past.
Its' history as a business is not that great. if a new structure were to replace it, that brought in revenue, employment and tax dollars, then it is better off gone.
The front veranda, bars and wonderful dining room are what gave it character. They disappeared decades ago.

With numerous building code violations and lack of capital investment the owners now I think are looking for a handout from the city to save this building by having designated historic and play on the past history of this once grand hotel

It has been in disrepair for many years and needs major repairs which the town should and can not afford. Better to have it repaired as close to original than another kenwood

My understanding / recollection is that the present owners asked the city for the designation when they purchased the hotel. There must have been a rea$on that benefited them at the time. Now they don't want it??? I'd say they got what they asked for and should be (like everyone else with heritage buildings) required to follow the rules.

this has been nothing but heartache for years in my eyes i think it is time to be torn down too much money involved to fix it not worth the time or money
