How about parking meters on docks in Kenora Bay along the greenbelt?

Depends on what season. Plenty of parking spaces during spring and fall even for vehicles. It's the summer season where the tourists and Manitobans come in droves. Sometimes you get lucky to find a parking spot downtown.

They would not use the meters if they were there. They park for free in Lakeside. This creates one way traffic flow and becomes very unsafe. But I guess the safety of a year round citizen is minor to a summer resident. Year round residents do not matter. We need more docks and parking for summer residents!

Why should there be free public boat parking? Short term maybe, but other than that, if you use it, pay for it. No different than parking your car downtown. Actually look at the "free" parking we provide for out of towners on the streets in Lakeside. Not uncommon to see out of town vehicles with empty boat trailers parked for days on the streets. Can anyone tell me why By Law Enforcement lets this happen. I watch them drive by these free loaders several times a day every day YET no ticket!

We don't need anymore docks unless the City finally figures out there should be a user fee attached to them for out of towners. Did you check out the empty docks at the Inn of the Woods last summer? Seems tourists only what the free stuff we have to offer and let locals pay for everything for them in our taxes. The Lake is nuts enough without countless more boaters who don't have a clue how to drive their huge boats.

Why is this question even being asked? We are the Premier Boating Destination in North America! Everything is just peachy! What a joke and I whole heartedly agree with the rest of the comments, lack of dock space, no parking, confrontations at the ramps, two special events trailers occupying four parking spots at the ramp parking at the Rec Centre all summer. Overall lousy conditions of the ramps and docks, no bylaw enforcement on parking, Should I continue? Cynical you bet, but realistic!

So; with all the other demands on the taxes, who pays for this? The non-boating public shouldn't have to cough up the cash, why not user pay for the parking at minimum.

There is plenty of docking but greedy people leave the boats there all the time. Downtown workers also use up the spots. There should be some sort of pay system. Go to manitoba you get nothing for free, you pay to park anywhere downtown, boat lauches etc.

It's a shame that the city and economic development don't even support their own brand "North America's Premier Boating Destination". Just another one of the reasons to clean house.
