i cannot afford to give to anyone anymore our council and ontario government has taken that away with all the taxes i am on a fixed income which is stretched to the limit as well as many others here we could be looking for charity soon |

We do both! Its local and it benefits our community. If someone approaches me to donate and it is not for our community I decline. Keep the donation local. |

I prefer to make a monetary donation to local charities. In fact for years, I have only donated locally. The big name charities have too much overhead and very little of a donation actually gets to the cause they represent. At least locally you can see where the donations go and adjust the amounts as the needs vary. |
