Is it just me or does anybody understand what the heck this Paula is talking about?

If I owned a gas station I wouldn't give a discount rate. For this small market, in this remote location, and all the belly-aching green wing-nuts that are living in socialism dreams-cape imaginary world. How about ride your bikes more. Lucky to have fuel, that someone else is doing all the work to get, and you to benefit and accommodate your lifestyles.

There's collusion amongst the local oil companies - of course this comment will not be posted nor the problem investigated. Kenora folk, heads buried in the sand as usual

You are right, locally, we are continuing to be gouged with the price per litre. The trucking companies, who transport goods and groceries, should be able to lower their prices as a consequence. Only then, will we benefit by lower prices for all goods that are shipped via truck. The airlines have yet to lower their ticket prices or remove the additional charge for fuel, but they claim that they purchased their reserve fuel when the price was high. Ticket prices should drop by spring if the price per barrel continues to either drop or stay the same as it is at present. The lower price for gas should benefit us all in some way. Some people are struggling to make ends meet and this should help them.

This little survey shows you how local people think — cheap gas to drive a couple hundred kilometers and they think its good for the economy — no, its good for me. We need to develop the 157 billion barrels, second largest oil reserves in the world on a national level. Trudeau was right, the oil sands should have been nationalized. It would have been developed already. This natural resource is different than any other resource in Canada because of its massive size and the risk everyone in Canada and the country takes to develop it, move it and ship it off to world markets. Every other country in the world that has a large oil reserve has it nationalized to spread out the risks and rewards. Silly little Albertans. Maybe it's too late now, the world doesn't want or maybe need the oil. To develop it, you have to spread the benefits in order for everyone to take on the huge environmental risk and tarnish Canada's image further.

It's nice to see gas prices getting back to a reasonable rate. This tells me for the last few years oil prices have been manipulated by a man made shortage which is definitely wrong. The low prices should help the economy as people will have more money to spend and transportation costs for other goods shouldn't be as high, but that depends if retailers lower prices in relation to costs. I think the oil companies are still making big money at these prices but not as fast.

Since the high time, oil was around 140 dollars a barrel (Now $55.00). Meanwhile our gas price has fallen about 40 cents a liter. Me thinks someone is still making a good profit and it is not the consumer.

It depends on what consumers do with the money saved on gas. If they put it back into the economy it will mitigate the negative impact of lower gas prices on the national economy. If they reduce debt, or tax shelter with RRSPs, or take a foreign vacation, the economy will suffer because of lower gas prices.

What do you mean cheaper gas? We're still paying about 30 cents per liter more for gas than we should be. In the U.S. they are paying downwards of 50 cents per liter. That's right 50 cents per liter. Why is Winnipeg around 84 cents per liter? Why is Dryden cheaper than kenora? We are paying an inflated price here and l doubt its the big oil companies that are behind this. So you can figure out why it is so high here it is a local issue period.
