Financial education would be one of the best classes that could be offered in this day and age with all of the ups and downs to financial markets, general home expenses and the rearing of children. This should include future planning for their continued education whether it be university or technical training. Right now, a university education does not guarantee a job, so one has a better chance of obtaining work if they have technical training, such as electrical or gas and refrigeration. None of this extra training is cheap so overall budgeting should be learned.
Other classes that should be mandatory in school are home economics and shop classes. Children need to be prepared to be become "household engineers" so that they can properly maintain a household. The more chores you can do on your own, the more money you save.
