I don't know but I think it should not have been dismissed as an option. Certainly not by the questionable reasons in the first report.

Generic, or Name Brand? I'll liken it to buying batteries. For most jobs, the generic brand does fine. But, when you have something that you have to rely on in the long run and give you the most power/strength, I buy Duracell. The same goes for buying our police market. Using "both" at the same time doesn't make sense, costs more, and the more reliable force kicks in anyway.
I don't understand what the fuss is all about. Some are politically loud about their bias to our generic force because they have invested their lives in the force for a long time...That is OK.
However, I believe the silent majority KNOWS the fact that the provincial force without a doubt, has more resources. It's strong reputation proves itself.
Why is anyone worried? The KPS force will confidently continue to work for the town under the full resource of the OPP. I truely don't see where the problem lies - I'm not willing to pay out more for the use of two forces at the same time, but quite willing to pay a bit more for one strong, proven force.

I've said it before. I'll say it again (RCMP)

I think this is a loaded question since it should all be policed by the Kenora Police and not the OPP. However hybrid policing has been working because of the natural boundries of the three communities so it works. If we had to go to one force though, the KPS is the way to go. Local control, local people and local flair.

I think it should be considered an option. The two should be compared "FAIRLY". Personally I think that the city should get rid of the OPP and keep the City of Kenora Police.

No different that Kenora Hydro and Ontario Hydro. Do you feel they are cost efficient? We need one service only for policing, make a decision and let's move on.

I think it is time to make a decision. Council has been dragging it's heels for too long on this issue. We do not need two police forces in a city this size, paying double is not the way to go. Maybe Treaty 3 can change their mandate and start to police their own in the city. They are culturally aware of the needs of their own people, then discrimination cannot be used. Really we are currently paying for three police forces in the district. What a waste of taxpayers money.

Two services in the same town is a waste. It means we have two clerks, staff sergeants, trainers etc. Can you imagine having two fire services, one for Keewatin and one for Kenora, two ambulance services, two separate town administrations?
