Some of the store owners in the area need to clean up their act as well, and not at the cost of the tax payers. That area is full of drug deals, loitering and is very dangerous. A good portion of that money should be used for security cameras to STOP all the downtown break ins. Kenora is not open for business, it's too dangerous and the chances of a break in are high and you insurance costs would be through the roof. And don't forget about the needles that you would need to clean up each day.

I think the only beautification Kenora needs right now is fixing our terrible streets. If beauty is putting more boulders on street corners I think the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Fix the roads in town. Never mind with what we don't want. Why do the down town business control the town?

It would be nice to fix that area for the few businesses that are there, but that area is pretty rough and does not attract a lot of locals or tourists. My friend had a business there 14 years ago and had to move, far too many drug deals, dirty and dangerous. He had to clean the sidewalk every morning due to all the garbage from the apartments above his business.

The council should spend the money to clean up the mess they have created downtown. My shopping is limited to Canadian Tire and Walmart. It’s too bad people have a fear to venture in the streets of Kenora. More roundabouts etc. will not help.

I would if all the funding was in place. Waiting for some government entity to throw us a bone and give us more money is not the way to go. Yes, the streets need repaired and traffic flow improved. However the cost is questionable. The job should be re tendered. This is all tax dollars, no matter who it comes from. Every other town and city and organization has their hands out too. Pretty soon the bank will be empty. Should an emergency come along, there will be little money left in city coffers or even worse, the governments coffers.
