I think we are very lucky we're not a third world Province like Manitoba. Our teachers are the highest paid in the world, our police is the best equipped, we have more freebies here than any other Province.

It would appear that most folks in Kenora and the Northwest Region are not impressed!

Premier Ford seems to be more obsessed with $1 beer & having liquor available at 9 a.m., just what we need with our homeless problem.

The OPP received a $400,000 increase to police our ghost town... not much happens downtown after 8 in the evening. Why does No Frills have security staff but Safeway doesn't? Why do all the Financial Institutions lock their ATM access in the evening? Who compensates these companies for their extra costs?

Our area has lots of issues, but a very small tax base. Everyone should pay taxes to support the needs for a better future. Young adults cannot afford housing in Kenora, so most leave, and seniors are also struggling to make ends meet. So where are the tax dollars coming from? Wake up politician, people are having a tough time dealing with living from pay to pay.

The last Liberal government left a big mess for Ford. I think he will do well in cleaning it up but I hope he doesn't make drastic cuts for needed services. I do agree with the cut to legal aid as far as it being spent on illegal border crossers. Wynne knew she wasn't going to be re-elected and made all those big money spends that made Ford look bad when he had to cancel some.

We are in the boonies. Sometimes we get a bonus that seems to go nowhere. Look around town. The streets are a disaster, needles are popping up like spring flowers, theft is rampant.
We hear from all levels of government about money being spent and how good we are supposed to feel about that. Ask yourself-what has government spending done for you as a resident of this area or a citizen of Canada.

We should be part of Manitoba! Most Ontarians from the East have no clue where Kenora is!! So yah! Once again Northwestern Ontario does not benefit from the budget. All the money for the budget is East of Thunder Bay!

There's too much social welfare. Anyone and everyone can improve their own condition, if they work ... to provide for yourself and family.

The needs of Kenora are many but everything costs money and where is the money going to come from?
The Wynne and McGuinty governments nearly tripled Ontario's total debt to $350 billion and even with low interest rates it now costs Ontario taxpayers $12 billion a year to service that debt. What happens when interest rates go to 6, 8 or 10 per cent? In other words Ontario is broke thanks to Liberal government's disastrous green energy program.
