I hope that the funding for this is coming from Hockey Canada and not municipal taxes, as we have a ski hill that needs water, and that would seem to be more important than celebrating a 100 year old game that until a few months ago no one had heard about. How about recognizing the many people that make hockey happen in our town today?

I think it is great for Kenora to have won the cup but we tend to live in the past. Let's move on. It's just a game folks.

Yes, what an awesome sports record. It will never be repeated, due to the NHL monopoly.
Just think though, in another 40 years Toronto will be able to celebrate 100 years since it won Lord Stanleys Cup !!!!

Not sure what it'll involve yet so who knows. If it's a healthy celebration of the game of hockey and has a positive message for the kids, we'll go. However, if it's another forum for kids to hear that they need to make travelling teams and play at highly competitive levels to enjoy the game of hockey, I think we'll go skiing.

Yes I will go, however if I read or hear how this is good for the downtown business I think I will
get very ill.

This is something worth recognizing. It is a sports feat that will never be broken. Kenora has a place in hockey history and we should all get out and recognize this.
