You have to pay for everything else, so why not for the book lending service? People who trailer their boats have to pay $5 every time they launch their boat.

It would be interesting to know:
a) how many responders to the question actually know what they are;
b)how many of these transfers occur at the Kenora Library, and;
c) how many of the responders to this question actually use them.
Why not user pay? If you need a unique service that can't be provided here, then you should pay for the service if it has to be provided elsewhere.
The people performing the service are no doubt well paid. There need to be compensation for the service.
Why should some dude in another town get a service provided by the Kenora Library free, when I pay taxes towards the operation of our Library.

Why should l as a taxpayer have to pay for special interest groups again. Time to let them pay there own way and not have taxpayers foot yet another bill.

We have families that can’t afford computers, so the only way they can get information is at the library.

Why not. The person processing the loan gets paid. There needs to be a cost recovery process. Nothing is free in the world anymore.
