Although I never voted for most of them, I have to admit I think they are doing a good job. They seem to be controling expenses as best they can and everything seems to be in the open thus far. Having said that, if you get more than 10 per cent of the people saying 'yes' to this poll, they must being doing well, given the nature of how people view town councils...

I'm totally disgusted with the approach the city council is taking with the police costing issue.
In this decision making process they are seeking advice from an outside source (which happens to be bias) for the costing issue. Good job council, your town is really going to trust your future decision making abilities.

Getting a retired O.P.P. officer to decide which police force you should go with, sure shows me something. It looks like their mind is already made up. And how about the tax survey. I noticed there was no question about how much funding we would like cut for the administration costs at city hall. I can think of a couple hundred thousand a year people could use a little trimming instead of laying off another front line worker. They want everyone else to take the cut but are not willing to do it themselves.

This council has pushed ahead in an arrogant and ignorant manner. They have not taken the time to educate themselves on the issues they are trying to fix. They try and hold the line when it comes to money but agree to fix the mayor's car when it was damaged. No other employee of the city gets this kind of benefit. Further, their handling of the police costing has been a complete disgrace. They refused to conduct a review to find out if they can even afford to make a decision and then select the highest bid for a consultant who is a retired OPP officer. It appears that this council is conducting business in a sneaky and dishonest manner. I hope the public speaks up on this issue and is heard!! Shame on you all.

The latest council has a tough road to hoe. The loss of the major employer will really start to show. Give them a chance, but they must stop the frivolous spending now! Concentrate on infrastructure and economic development. Where is the development officer? People want to see something now! Painting fire hydrants and playing with a logo won't help this town. Over 40 millworkers now work in Ft. Mac. Think about it.
