I actually think global warming can be a good thing in the long run. Sure we loose a few species and coastal cities. But we lost the dinosaurs and mastodons in the past. That's evolution. If my house is in the tropics in a decade or two, that's bonus.

I don't believe that major lifestyle changes are required. Plan your trips to combine as many errands as possible in one trip and walk once in a while. Ensure thermostats are low when not at home or at night and drive a vehicle that is low in emissions and appliances that are energy efficient. The other big energy draw is instant on electronics. Turn these off whenever possible. |

Yes I am, Unfortunately, the "Everyday Joe's" of the world combined will have little impact compared to industry, and only governments and world markets will affect the decisions that industry will make. Most of us (me included) know relatively little about how we contribute and thus our own ignorance is the biggest hurdle we face as individuals. Kenora is a great testing ground as we're heavy into the rednecks for sure... |
