I am worried about Compton and if I would have known Randy would split the vote and Compton would get in. I would have voted for Dave.

Dave could not even save his own job at the mill. How was he going to save the city? Good choice.

Not certain as to how mayor and council will develop. Not one candidate mentioned or campaigned for the people of Kenora, merely all was for the economy, downtown business development, not one mentioned of the racism present in the community, if small business is such a big issue, than why get in all the major corporations such as Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire etc.

I think two years from now we'll be locked in an bureaucratic stalemate, with no political connections, no industry connections, too many internal departmental reviews and process, and lots of blaming. I think we made a big mistake on this mayor and it'll take a couple of years to become apparent.

If the new council looks after the infrastructures and not the well to do wish list (ie - concert hall). I will be happy. Rabbit Lake Road is still waiting for a new road and sidewalks which was alloted for by fundings SIX YEARS AGO...we're still waiting!

Even though "democracy" has spoken, there is no representation for Norman and Keewatin. These folks deserve a voice on council too!! perhaps its time to look at a Ward system of representation, where each area gets its voice.

I think the council will be fine, but the mayor is another story.

What a mess. A couple incumbents, and then a bunch of new comers with no idea what they are in for. Put your own agendas aside, open your minds and stop our slide into economic oblivion.

Having Compton at the helm scares me. I hope you folks know what you were doing in putting him in office, time will tell.

Looks like the new council is a good mix of a wide variety of ideas. I do not envy their position as we try to hold the line on taxes and spending.i agree that public works and property protection need a review, these depts. are not untouchables and if there are savings to be had so be it. a bit surprised no rep. from the old keewatin town.
