We should show our kids by way of example and perhaps turn off our phones at dinner and until the next morning so we can all get back in touch with using our hands to turn a child's face to place a loving kiss on their cheek or to turn the page of the book we read them at bed time. To use our arms to offer a hug of comfort or look them in the eye while having a conversation about their day. We could all re learn the comfort there is in human contact and communication with one another.

Distracted driving, annoyance at the theatre and restaurant, standing in line waiting for a person who is on their phone holding up the line. Do really need this distraction in the classroom ? What's so important on that phone? I came from a large family we talk, you know verbally or on the telephone and we sure were never on the phone at supper time. Put the phones away in the classroom and I don't buy using it for research. Please!

Kids have enough of a chore concentrating in class. They don't need the distraction of a cell phone. Neither do the students around them.

Cell phones are very distracting and should not be in a classroom. I cannot believe the number of people you see that can't stand in a line for 5 minutes without pulling their cell phones out. How do you expect students to sit for 20 or 30 minutes without looking at their phoes.

School is important, only 6 hours of their day. Cell phones can be a distraction and the students should have respect for their teacher's time. They can be on their phones the other 18 hours and block out the beauty of the real world.
