I think that it might be time to initiate a curfew in Kenora. Initially, it would be an added burden on KPD but eventually, I think that parents would become more responsible & make sure their children were home at the appointed time. It's sure worth a try!

I think I feel safer now than I will next year after our untouchable council manages to disassemble our reliable police services as we know them and effectuate dread we cannot yet imagine.

In comparison to other cities, I hardly think we understand how safe we really are. The aforementioned comments define how little we have to complain about. There is a huge difference between real safety issues and poverty driven pleas.

Was anyone on the streets of Kenora the night before the last PD day? I was and there were literally groups of 10-12 young people so intoxicated that they couldn't walk straight... ages 10-15! Do parents not care where or what their kids are up to at one or two in the morning? By the way, the police were so busy that they couldn't get to all their calls of intoxicated youths.

No Way! just this past weekend, my friend and I had to result to physical violence to protect ourselves from a group of thugs. It is sad when you can no longer feel safe on your own streets. I hope more citizens will react as we did and show these creeps that they will not rule the streets.

I lived in the downtown core of Toronto and felt much more safer there, than I do here in Kenora. Now that is messed up.

It's all the way one looks at a problem? Yes, I think that the streets of Kenora are much safer now for the vehicles. Thanks to the Public Works Department of the City of Kenora, the public thoroughfares are without potholes and other obstructions as when a problem occurs it is quickly rectified.

Feeling safe in Kenora? What is that. We can't even walk home from work without getting bothered by a street person for money, or food. When you say NO they seem to get even more pushy. You don't know what they are going to do next. I used to feel safe walking home. Now I walk very fast and cross the street a lot. It's not suppose to be like this. Imagine how children feel!

No, it's about time our First Nations actually take charge of their own who are the dominant homeless and problem on our streets. They want self government, then do it.

Absolutely not! There are more 'homeless', transients, youth gangs and drunks. It's time the city council and the various police agencies got their act together and cleaned up the streets. Why are their groups of kids roaming the streets at 4 a.m.?
Add to that the vandalism at the cemetery. Its time for either better lighting and surveillance cameras, or some citizens of this city to take some action!
