The only ones that benefit from the proportional system are the small splinter parties who would not gain otherwise. These groups are all vying for power and their own agenda to create kaos and interfere with stable government. We will be voting to preserve our present system. Hope you will too.

Well either someone is very BORED or has a hidden agenda to even suggest this.

So let me see if I get this right! We vote for 2 people. Then we have to pay twice as much as we do now for elected officials. Sounds like Dinky Dalton has a lot of friends who need jobs. I thought government was supposed to get smaller to reduce cost etc. Go Figure!

Why would anyone want unelected people being paid for with tax money. They are not representatives of the people. Only their party. We have elected reps in office with low popular support due to the number of people running in a riding. We do not need unelected non candidates in government.

The problem with the proportional is we will have a number of "candidates" which the party selects who will get seats if the party is under represented by the popular vote, but have no constituents. These will be true party hacks who are only accountable to the party which means the leader. They could save us all some money by just giving the party leaders extra votes since it is unthinkable that the party representative will vote against the party since they are only accountable to the party and don't have constituents to represent.

You mean someone had the audacity to change the voting system? The existing system favors the major population centers. With the largest portion of the population in southern Ontario, our votes and representatives don't really count.
