Since this seems to be a newer subject in the media I am sure we do not have all the facts on what the sex education cirriculum would entail. However, I did read that the material being taught is optional and age-appropriate. So what is wrong with teaching our children healthy attitudes? Children are maturing alot faster nowadays. At a young age they could be taught appropriate vs. inappropriate touch, confidence with who they are, socially acceptable behaviours, etc. As they get older, it goes beyond that. Sex education does not need to be simply the act of sexual behaviours. It goes so much further than that and in today's society it is a very important subject.

McGuinty is a total idiot for even suggesting sex education for 11 year olds and it was only after a lot of pressure that he backed down. Sex education is the responsibility of the parents and only health classes should be taught in the grade school system. While may some say kids learn from the internet and TV programs, it is not always the right information and parents should step up to the plate, look after their children and teach them that there may be serious consequences to sexual activity. If parents are too embarrassed to talk about sex with their children, they should send or take their children to the library to pick up good resource material on the facts of life.
