This strain of flu is quite different. There are no vaccines for it. I hope it is not mishandled like Sars was. People do need to be informed and take precautions. People on the other hand do not need to be afraid to go out or be in contact with others. In the end, this will pass. The vaccine resistant strain of the "regular" flu is just a few mutations away. Then watch out!!

The comments on this poll seem to be very (FLUENT)
in nature (sorry I couldn't resist the pun)

So what's the difference between H1N1 and regular flu? How many of the people that died were already so sick that a normal illness added on to the existing illness could lead to death? Are you sure this just isn't the "health authorities" (remember Sarsfield?) creating unwarranted panic to justify their positions and budgets? I really don't know, but based on my experience I am very suspicious of bureaucrats.

My concern is about the way this whole outbreak has been blown out of proportion. The "regular" Flu kills many thousands of people each year.
I realize this is a different, vaccine resistant strain. However, putting fear into the general population is not the way to go about educating people.
I am reluctant to see what comes around when a real "Pandemic" stikes. can you imagine the panic, fear mongering and knee jerk reactions.
People need a general knowledge of the severity, from one reliable source. Just remember "Wash your hands".
