A Big No! As a first time visitor to your town, I found the advertising does not represent the product. I spent 3 nights here, went out for supper at 3 different restaurants. The service was slow, food arrived luke warm, the attitude of the servers was horrible and for a place that wants to be a tourist attraction, we were not made to feel welcome. The lake is nice, but once you get a block over, there are drunks, druggies and trash.
We parked the boat okay but the launch facilities were sub standard and crowded. There again, not made feel welcome.

It's getting there. There are some potential hazards though - planes landing and taking off in busiest part of the lake, during the busiest of the boating year..

I would say no. What they have attracted are a generation of boaters who are rude, ignorant and self centered. It makes you wonder how valid a boater's card really is. I have seen impaired drivers, near misses, garbage strewn in boat wakes and boats up on clearly marked reefs. Pretty sad, when you take a lake like ours and turn it into a collecting place for idiots.
Also, our docks and ramps are in need of repair and parking for vehicles and trailers still seems to be an issue that is ignored by By Law Enforcement.
The tourist Kenora is spending ad money trying to attract.  ( August 4, 2017)
Was spending the week visiting friends out on the Lake. Arrived back at my car with the windshield wipers straight up and a plastic laminated ticket nylon tied to my wiper. I didn't have side cutters to cut through the nylon tie so had to drive two hours with the ticket flapping. Secret (no signage) Bylaw 180-2015 states: No parking in excess of 48 hours in Kenora...... If you have a boat trailer the limit is 1 hour!
Welcome to Kenora for 48 hours then get out!
If you bring a boat by trailer get out in 1 hour!
My other friends don't have this hassle at their Lake!

What a joke you brand yourself as the boating premier destination but have nothing to support it. No parking lousy docks with screws and nails exposed lack of ramps, need I continue? Parking bylaws that are not enforced, Devils Gap an accident waiting to happen not to mention Safety Bay. Put up something for us to be proud of.Anyone can brand us as a premier destination now prove it.

We need to have more parking for our summer residents so they do not take up our streets in Lakeside. This is getting dangerous and the streets are one way. Kenora residents with boat trailers struggle to go down streets in Lakeside. Launching a boat is a different story. We should have a boat launch for locals and separate ones for tourists who park over night with trailers and without trailers. Lots of problems need to be addressed first!

The city has no more land to put more docks in. Why,because the shore lines are sold to the private person. if the the city wants more tourists then start looking for a place to have a water slide and maybe more family tourists will come

What a joke, lack of boat launch parking, crappy docks that damage your boat, lack of day parking, lack of rentals, not enough destinations on the lake for stopping to eat. I could go on. But honestly the number 1 problem is the launches. Nothing like coming back from a day on the lake to find you can't even get your trailer to the water because the fair is in town or it's late and park locks the gate at 11. Yes boating in the dark isn't for everyone but for some it's an amazing part of the summer season.

A boating destination would have docks all over for public use or day rentals come to Kenora and have to trailer all over.

Have you looked at the conditions of the boat launches... and the fact there is no place to park when you do get your boat in the water. They need separate parking at Anicinabe park, one for the beach and one for boaters. Lets talk about getting get businesses to stay open so you can get your boat fixed on a Saturday and maybe having some parts for the boat and not having to wait 14 days to get them.
